Should have brought the ones I posted up
They were advertised as kehin.
If there made accuratly to Kehin spec they should flow the same!

Re: Dyno Disappointment.....
Right!
I have just had a second run out on the bike (nice day
) to confirm my thoughts from the previous cold dark evening.....
The bike, fitted with 4x115 'Keyster' main jets is running fantastic, the midrange dip is barely there, indeed, it's hardly a dip, just a progression of performance from low reve - I still have throttle response & decent acceleration through it whereas before is felt 'sluggish & boggy', there is now a noticeable change in engine note at 6 1/2k (as 4 valve bike engines tend to) & the engine pulls crisp & cleanly right through - it now has a crisp bark as she accelerates.
I whipped a plug out & it was mid tan (was black with 115/118 RO mains)
It now feels right, sure I will get it redynoed sometime but may do a full service 1st (valves etc).
BUT along with changing jets, I also rechecked the needles (all ok) & noticed the needle retainers could be fitted 2 ways - I set them all the same (were mixed up - my doing). Not sure if this would make any difference to how the bike pulls.
Heres the thread....;

Anyway, I'm now a happy bunny

Re: Dyno Disappointment.....
so briefly Phil, what spec is your bike with the 115 Keysters in. Have you lifted the needle 0.5mm, is it otherwise stock, inc filter, silencer etc?

Here;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRASS-MAIN-JE ... 391wt_1568
I ordered 4 x 115s
From the initial runs out, these seem fine but if I was buying again, personally, I get some genuine Keihin ones (I thought these were going to be but misread the listing).

Re: Dyno Disappointment.....
Yep, thought as it was built with 4 matching jets I'd stick with it. If it was a later bike I would have used different jets f/r.
....but then I wouldn't have needed to 'cos it would already have them in lol

Re: Dyno Disappointment.....
UPDATE!
It is a while since I started this thread, so I thought I'd give an update on progress.
I fitted (aftermarket) mains - all 115s to replace the RO supplied 115/118s which I felt made the bike run too rich. The bike was originally fitted with original 110s all round & ran too lean.
When fitting the 115 jets I also placed all of the needle retainers allowing the hole in the base of the slide to show - it seems no one has picked up on the fact they can be reinstalled in 2 positions. I believe they do make a difference to the troublesome 6-7k flatspot area.....
The bike instantly felt better it felt right, the flat spot at 6-7k had all but gone & the engine pulled stronger above 10k.
She's now had a full winter service; all bearings stripped greased, all fluids changed, new plugs & (genuine) filters & valves done. Apart from the mains & pilots set to 2.25 turns (too lean with 2 turns) everything is stock settings, original exhaust & genuine Honda air filter
Here's the latest dyno run - it doesn't look that much different from the 1st runs but does show a slight improvement throught most of the rev range & doesn't compare to the difference on the road & in real world conditions.
Sure the bike is running quite a bit leaner to the previous run & feels better for it. Much sharper & crisper

Phil
Ps; the bike won't be going back to Quill (Golborne) - as when the Dyno guy was wheeling it out of the workshop he crunched one of the mirrors on a door frame
slightly bending the screen brace & cracking a chunk out of the screen - he didn't seem overly apologetic & said I'd be able to get one from ebay......
Clumsy fecker
A free dyno run was the only consolation. Great

Re: Dyno Disappointment.....
Reference to the damage to your bike - speak to the boss. Their business liability cover should insure the damages. Not fair you having to pay for their negligence.
