I can see where they are comming from, I just think they would be better of focusing their efforts on sculpture and modern art.
To make an aerodynamic speed vehicle into a unaerodynamic "Im Ard" machine makes my bellybutton tingle.
Anyhow I feel we are hyjacking this thread.
Repair your body panels.
Dont remove them, unless your wearing a cycling time trial helmet! :Rulez:

race rep as in Rizzla, mallbro, rossi, corona or who ever else races replica bikes, moving advert board
mine is a rep from a standard paint job be it a 900cc paint job, but no way a race rep. only 1 logo on my bike.. Hondas.. no one elses!

Plastex will do the job just fine.

so how come i dont have all the silly sponsor stickers all over it? maybe because it has standard-ish paint job.
yes i know its a sports bike and that it has had its day in races.
BUT.. in the show bike world a Race rep is not my bike.. its any of the ones i listed.
starting to think i spend too much time at bike shows... or thinking some of you dont spend enough time at them.

we all like different things, but dont be so quick to dismiss a bike just because you haven't bothered to find out why they are like that or try to understand the thinking and engineering behind them. i hate bog standard Harley's, but i'll take the time to look over a chopper or custom bike with a HD lump in it.

I can see where you are comming from, but if im to drool over fine art and master engineering, I just look at a picture of a female (subject to conditions)
Other than that, metal, shiny or not, over engineered or not, is just a material that dissolves in rain.
No increase in blood pressure there.
No tightness in the trowsers, nope, just dont get it.

I didn't dimiss anything LP you did by stating race reps are shite.

I know a bloke who has built a GSXR600 that now holds the lap record at the Nuremberg ring yes a 600 holds the lap record, do you think there was no thinking or engineering that went into that "shite race rep" ?

i dont a mind a race rep now and then.
personal opinion is your 40 yr old on blue rizla gsxr 1000 looks a bit shit.
whereas the akira yanagawa zx7r looks the nuts.
some race reps are too common to become unique. a repsol cbr is popular, but again not my favourite.
the p3 gsxr 600 is such a lovely bike, i love that about the 400, anyone can do 3 figures in a straight line.
i'd much prefer to go round a corner, smooth and fast then power out.

nuremburg ring bike *is* a race bike.... proper race bikes i dont mind as i know thats all part and parcel of what they are about. they have to display sponsor stickers or they cant afford to ride the races.

its road bikes that never see a track or race that get stickered to look like a racers bike (=Race rep) i dont like.

Actually no...its a road bike with lights tax insurance and MOT he rode it to germany to ride the ring.

So is my Rothmans NSR a shite race rep? even though its exactly as it came out of the factory?
