Those things saved my life. I had my wrist in a cast for 6 months (double compound fracture that wouldnt heal) and when i finally came out i had NO mucle and movement left in my wrist. They really do work!

Arthritis isn't the end of the world, fair enough if you have had it for a long term (20+years) and have done not a single thing about it.
the worst thing you can do is to "rest" it, as inactivity will just compound the stiffness.
what symptom of the arthritis is getting you the worst?

Re: damn arthritis to hell
well the rsi in my wrist ive had since 1991 (Tenosynovitis) and no it wasnt from pulling certain items too much!!! basically if that flares it is mainly pain and stiff.. i dont wear a support for it unless it gets bad as they just weaken the muscles around it and exasperate how prone it is to flaring up.
my left shoulder i have osteo artrhitis thats been there about 5 years i use these rubber bands the physio gives me to exercise that and on whole does the job awesomely.
the clutch hand.. that swells and gets pain in the joints and backwards towards the wrist.. im assuming atm that it is also osteo arthritis but dont see my doc till end of next week.
think i gonna go test ride a fuckload of bikes and find something that fits in :D
cruiser is last option dont feel ready for one of those yet rly (no offence meant to anyone that has one btw.... i deffo see their appeal)
will let ya know what i end up fitting :D

the fact that you have RSI tends to suggest to me that you have played around loads with the lever setting so that there is no bend in your wrist at all and there is a straight alignment to from the fingers to wrist? did that do much for ya?

I know about Arthur Ritis too - I get it in my feet and shoulder. my shoulder sometimes feels like someone is sticking a red hot poker through it
An idea for your clutch hand is a clutch lever gear box - brb with details................

Damn, can't find one now
A while back i got my mate one of these things. He'd fitted a competition clutch on his bike and the springs were realy heavy. A bit hard to describe without pics but inside the body of the lever and mounting bracket was a pivoted lever. halfway down is connected the clutch cable and at the top was a small cable that led to the lever itself so, in effect, your halfing the amount of force needed to pull the lever.
How about an hydraulic clutch conversion? Or, how about a 400 Hondamatic - no, maybe not :)

well my wee bike has sold to a local guy for about what i spent on parts without how much i bought the bike for! ( that shotgun the wifes father has looms closer by the minute :O ) but still judging character id say shes gone to a good home to someone who will appreciate these sf's for what they are so im happy enuff even with the loss of money.
will keep trying to find something thats gonna work out for me in meantime.
ensie you had me in stitches with the hondamatic suggestion :D
