Having owned most models of the 400s I would not in this day and age sink money into an nc24.mika159 wrote:That's actually made me feel loads better, wanted a vfr since the 21 was first released. Finally got one and I've no intention of letting it go lmao, even if it's only the 24. Silly amounts it is then. Think if I'm not alone then I'll just stop stressing about it. Thanks
10 years ago you could get a minter for about 650 quid. then they were a good bike to buy.
If you plow a load of cash into it youll never want to sell it as youll never get the money back.. also youll probably be wanting a nc30 or 35.
Even the standard equipment on a 30 is so much better than the nc24, brakes, chassis, suspension front and rear and massive brake improvement let you ride rings around it, plus there are more aftermarket bits around for the 30.
If the 24 is of some sentimental value or its for a specific year of club racing then i can understand but plouging loads of money into one hwen the total will let you buy an nc30 is probably not the best thing to do,
again it all depends on what oyu want to do, if you want to have better brakes as stock, a choice of bolt on caliper upgrades, better choice of tyres, ability to be competitive more at trackdays and ride the bike harder then get a 30.
the nc24 has a fantastic motor but the rest of the bike is really undespecced, tyre choice is limited to hardly anything, suspension is crap in comparission.
owning any old bike is always going to be hand in pocket but think about which one you want to be always pocketing. its easy to get dragged down with one.
NC24 is a fun bike for what it is and its limitations and what not, if your happy with that then spend as much as you like, but no point trying to build one into some kind of nc30 wanna be when you can just buy an nc30...
