Nice bikes.
RE the frame, the plaque is further up towards the headstock - about half way between dent and weld on the frame. my UK bike is stored over in wales so cant get any pics of it

thanks..might just replace the frame as I will have the bike stripped to frame anyway..like I said earlier I missed a good clean unrecorded frame with v5 on ebay..

my mate bought a new nc30 from fowlers in Bristol..were from northern Ireland and took my pick up then and drove over for it..
he owned it until a few years ago and it was mint with dry miles...
he got a local Honda dealer over here to get him a brand new in crate rvf400 nc35 in 2000..he still has it..its done less than 2k miles..i fitted a twin exhaust silencer set up for him and a single seat cover...

here is a pic of it

I had some O and T rearsets on my race bike- they were high like nothing else I have ever used.

They also failed on me..so keep an eye on them as it was crack and then they snapped....

I think unless you have a lot of good history with the bike [ie current VIN number] then I'd look for a good frame to use. A vin plate there is just going to look wrong, or have it ally welded and re-finished. tho the rods used may give it a slightly different colour
nice collection BTW :)

thanks..
original vin numbers on headstock are as new..match v5...id rather just build the bike into another frame rather than try and repair it..will not be putting a vin plate on it now anyway

Fair one if your not going to sell it on, must admit if i was looking at a bike that had a dent even that small it would put me off but probably not others.

Nice collection of bikes there, would love to see the progress of the restoration!

I have the same issue with my long term RVF project. In the end i just held off and got a frame from a bike with similar mileage and old MOTs to prove oh and the same amount of previous owners.
