Not sure if the K8 is the same but gsxr6 K6/K7 is a straight fit.
earlier K series are longer so K6/K7 are my recommendation.
If you are looking at the K8 makesure the end mounts are correct as some later models changed.

Re: K8 rear shock for my GK76a?
Alright so a little while back I bought an 04-05 GSXr600 rear shock to replace the one on my 93 GK76a. After removing the stock rear shock and the dog bones I slotted the new shock in place. 2 things I noticed were wrong:
1: The reservoir for the new shock contacts the bottom of the air box tray/battery box. After cutting this open to allow the reservoir to protrude through, it still contacts the box which the air filter mounts to before the top mount of the shock aligns with the mount on the bike.
2: Holding the shock in place I looked at the positioning of the bottom mount and noticed it's WAY too long for anything to actually bolt into place even if the top mount were assembled.
So, my question is exactly what years of what bikes can we use the rear shocks out of? Did I just pick the wrong year bike to get a shock from? The one I purchased looked exactly the same as the one on Gavsta's blog but it seems maybe the reservoir is angled up a little more than the one he had. Any help would be appreciated because the Japanese want an arm and a leg to rebuild the stock one.

Re: K8 rear shock for my GK76a?
Ive not fitted one so cannot say 100% but from what people on here have posted the 06/07 are not too difficult to fit, from the pictures 08 should be ok.
01/05 are too long at around 330mm and the res pushes up at an angle.
06/07 are about 320mm and i think the 08 a couple of mm shorter still plus the res is at 90 deg so will give a little more space.
You may still need to move/space things slightly.
