Very poor service from such a big company

Ricky, I emailed them yesterday from work and had a reply. Unlike yourself I have a tyre co here in Bristol and it only cost me £114 for a rear fitted to a loose wheel (I say only!) they have ordered me a replacement of which I know have to take my wheel off go to the dealer get this fitted and pay for it! then come home fit it and ride safely until its scrubbed in. Of which may get done this year if I'm lucky. I have to leave the tyre with the dealer and he'll have to send it off. More hassel for him! As mine is on the edge and if funds were available for a track day it could like you say have been disasterous. Unfortunately what they have said they will do is fair and not sure how you/we would stand with trading standards. I will post my emails tomorrow.

I would gladly support you if you wanted to take this further with the likes of Bugsplat who advertise Bridgestone all over their site visordown, MCN and alike. I'd fancy a trip to the factory!!!

I think it's pretty normal for a product to go back to the shop and from there to the manufacturer sorry

Yeah but don't you think one for one replacement like you have 28 days for most things if the zip fails on your trousers you take them back and get a new pair. But we have to pay out and hope to get some money back as they calculate how much use you've had out the tyre.

Just a note about your head bearings, my NC35 failed last year for the same thing and me and a mechanically minded friend of mine counldnt feel anything wrong with it, until we took the wheel and forks off then the steering felt really notchie and crap. Im glad he picked it up on the MOT.

100% agree, bridgestone should give full backup to who ever they sell tyres to weather that be the end user, a dealership or mr ebay trader. In a case like this where the tyre is clearly at fault the end user should be able to take/send the tyre back to weather they brought it and have it replaced then they should expect full support from bridgestone to recover their costs. If they cant support whoever they sell tyres to then they shouldnt be selling them, id be going to town on this.

Already spoke with our bike mag friend and he's given a name. sent Ricky the details so will be calling in the morning. Fingers crossed.
