So is that just a standard VFR box then?Indiana Jones wrote:The first 3 gears ratios are closer than the RVF.....it's just a full low mileage NC30 transmission.Drunkn Munky wrote:Tell me more about the close ratio VFR gearbox, what gears have been changed for what?
First gear is very tall but you can hold it longer before looking for another gear.
Nothing HRC except it recommended in the RVF HRC manual.
Hopefully out in Mondello on the 1st of April and if I don't blow it up or wreck it,I'll be doing B'court and K'town over Easter.
Looking forward to getting it on track.
Pornodog, give a shout anytime. I owe you a cuppa for sorting my discs.

Re: Wish list almost done.
Bog standard.......but close ratio,compared to the NC35.
It sounds better to proclaim that it's a close ratio gearbox :)
I've seen a press release stating that Athea is not on this year. Looked pretty legit.

Hopefully I will prefer it,never used one before but it has to be better than reaching for second so soon after the flag drops.

Takes some getting use to getting off the line but ultimately i think its a better box although it will shit it self in time if you put big power through it. Rick O sells an upgrade to prevent this.

Re: Wish list almost done.
Just completed my first trackday on my rebuilt engine.
She's a good 'un.
The VFR transmission is a revelation,3rd gear is a beautiful gear.
Possibly helped with the extra power of the new engine, but it pulled third in places I would have been running out of steam or between gears with the RVF trans.
I'm feeling well happy with myself.
Refreshed Ohlins shock and 7.5w rather than 5w oil with RaceTech gold valve in the front is a major difference too.
Ready for a weekend of racing at the Mondello Masters.

Re: Wish list almost done.
A pair of thirds and a second place for my first weekend racing.
Before the weekend I would have been delighted with getting on the podium.
Now I just want to win.
Will I ever be happy....................................?
