Number plates are there for a reason, they are meant to be big enough to read from a distance. Plod does not enjoy being forced to squint.

However, if you must fiddle with it, go for 7 x 5.5" as this is the same proportion as original 9 x 7", so looks slightly less suspicious. 7 x 5" looks a little bit "letterbox", even to the untrained eye.
Would be easier to get the plod some specs, big plates make it look crap!
Point is, it's not about the looks of your bike. The police don't give a shit about that.

If you're going to advise people to do illegal things, it's best to at least qualify that with a warning that it's illegal, eh?

Thing is with the Jap bike is that you have to modify the structure of the vehicle to fit a UK legal plate, I recall you're allowed to have a different plate from the accepted standard for this reason (just like Japanese import cars are allowed 2 line square plates at the rear, that arguement being that you could fit a UK spec bumper/boot in many cases to allow for the correct plate)

Cheers, they get alot of attention, just because people are so used to seeing just the one on the left.

I don't recall the reason for the lump hammer, probably using it to shock a bolt undone or something, will go back to the thread and see if the post that pic is ripped from sheds any light
