Perhaphs you misunderstood my posts.

I am NOT looking for a really loud pipe.

I am looking for one who can replace my current pipe because the baffles have been removed and I was afraid this might damage the engine.

Regarding noise, I plan to gain some experience around the city b4 going for some ear mufflers for longer rides at least.

I don't think I misunderstood at all. I meant to to reassure you that having no baffles won't damage your engine:
Removing the baffles or packing won't damage the engine in the least.
Perhaps you misunderstood me? ;)

Please allow me to remind you that you started out by saying that loud pipes damage hearing, I was merely pointing out that I wasn't looking for a loud pipe.

Alright then, you may remind me!

I was using an English turn of phrase to illustrate that the loud exhaust won't damage your engine. You've totally got the wrong end of the stick! I could just as easily have written:

A loud exhaust might frighten small wildlife, but it won't damage your engine.

That doesn't mean that I think you shouldn't ride your bike in case you startle a squirrel.

Yeah well... The police recently decided to enforce a law in my country that prohibits anything producing over 40 Db from roaming the streets during night time.

And I can guarantee mine does. I hope they don't really stop and "ask" me about it.

Get yerself a plate and stick it on. If you get any grief just say that's how you bought it and plead ignorance ;) Also use some quick gear shifts to get the revs down when approaching any squad cars.
