Re: crash bobbins where do they go/fit
right well the deed is now done,
i used a about 50mm length of m10 threaded rod, drilled the lower engine holes out to 10.5mm dia,
i plan to put a 203mm in length, with an internal diameter of 10mm dia rod between the two mounts so in the unlikely event of a spill the force and weight load would be shared and halved
thus making it less likely to damage the engine or frame,
im curious to know if the holes at the bottom on the cylinder, above the starter and water pump should be connected to the frame.
does anyone have any pics as it seems i could be short of some mounts?
or access to some tube of 203mm length and with an internal diameter of 10.5mm to fit between the engine mounts. will put a post in the wanted section.

On the 35 the engine uses those mounts as the front hanger of the main frame is longer. the 30 only uses the top engine mount at the front.
An NC is for life, not just for Christmas!

thats a really scary thought!skinnydog0_0 wrote:On the 35 the engine uses those mounts as the front hanger of the main frame is longer. the 30 only uses the top engine mount at the front.
we alloy know how weak alloy is, i have a bracket thats been made up on the right hand header to mount from the upper mount to the lower which also had a m8 bolt which pinches up against the head, where the revious owner has snapped the exhaust stuf in the engine im pretty happy with it because i know its an extra bit of support and seems to hold and clamp the exhaust pretty well.
