So while I have it plugged in, I will have no speedo?
So all Jap models are restricted to 180kph (112mph) and derestriction gives what figure?

No not quite.
The speedo is driven via mechanical cable from the sprocket cover.
Japanese versions of the bike have a sensor inside them so when the needle hits 180k mark (112mph) the bike cuts the ignition to the cylinders.
This sensor comes out the back of the clocks and plugs into the loom behind the nosecone.
If you unplug the sensor the bike wont rev over 8000rpm in any gear.
Instead you remove the sensor and plug the dummy box into the loom. The bike then thinks the restrictor sensor is still plugged in but it'll never kick in and limit the bike, regardless of speed.
Unlimited it wil do 130mph ish.
