Re: What do you chaps think of my bike so far
... I like it
think the height at the back looks great with the height of the tank, love how its moulded into the sides so theirs not massive gaps to see the subframe. Id get a custom seat made for it tho or cut down the front of the r1 one tho as its too long (the seat not the seat uni), dont fit race foam iv ridden my race bike on the road with race foam seat and i was dying after 30 miles on country roads.
my rs250 seat unit sticks out over the rear wheel I thinkbut its more in propertion with the shapes of the rvf front.
I agree possible the front fairings need updating too, thing is these bikes are slightly different era's, possible an endurance nose or mabe tyga spark?
wot seat did it have on before?

i didnt want to have the 'option' to carry pillions but i like the work that has gone into it to allow you to still carry the mrs etc...I have modified the subframe, front seat, pillion seat, and yes the foot pegs have been modded aswell to fit the subframe.I wanted to do this modification to carry pillions,
i would personally look at getting the riders seat reduced. i havent got many pictures side on like yours this is the best i have.

if you can reduce the size i think more people will grow to like it. though i also agree with spike16 you are mixing a modern rear end with a older front end, so maybe a front end change is in order?

Your obviously pretty handy with the fibreglass so if it were me id shorten the tail an inch or so and either graft a NC seat pad on or fill it in and use race seat foam padding, that R1 seat is huge and is spoiling the look of the bike more than anything else.

fair play for having a go but it's not up my street..... and i'm no purist.
i like the tyga gear so consider it or something more modern for the front, like Pugs CBR picture or a 999 duc or something.
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Re: What do you chaps think of my bike so far
Not my idea of how i would like my NC to look, but i can see the effort thats gone into this.
i am a bit of a fan of the original shape which attracted me to these bikes in the first place.
However its your bike and i am delighted more and more go down the customisation route and update thier bikes. Its your bike you do what ever you like to it if it pleases you and lets be honest, half the fun is in the work isnt it ?
only problem comes should you try and sell it as the market looking for a modded bike can be somewhat reduced as the addons dont always increase the bikes value to the potential buyer regardless of the sellers hopes.
over the last 12-13 years on here i have seen some nice one off mods, and some whacky and creative ones and it keeps me interested in the 400's. Also allows me to buy all those cast off "old school" OE panels people no longer want

Re: What do you chaps think of my bike so far
at first i didn t like it at all but i think the foto s are making it worse
but on the last picture i think it wil look good when painted
if you could make the rider seat somewhat lower/smaller it would look better
but i like the efford you put in to making something and not just spending some cash
succes ermee

Re: What do you chaps think of my bike so far
I don't think it looks as bad as the pics suggest.
What I don't particularly like is how high the seat pad butts up to the fuel tank. This might make a very uncomfortable ride position. It looks to have raised the seat height by 50mm+, I hope you have strong wrists!
Kudos to you though, always good to see something different.
