Blasting and repainting makes a world of difference, looks new! I'm adding a blasting cabinet to my Christmas list now!

It really does, i've been vapour blasting unpainted aluminium engines with glass beads (makes them look like brand new!) However, without a cabinet to collect the glass it's too expensive :/

Ah cool, how heat-resistant is the paint, as surely the calipers will get quite toasty, i'da thought it might burn off?

I used plasticote on the tinware/engine bay on my show car/drag racing bug and it never peeled and that got really hot. I guess i will find out, but i dont think the heat will be an issue. 2x ex wrc celicas!! thats just not right, ask him if he still has any TTE bits left over?!!!

Great thread. I can't wait to see it finished.

What exactly is the blaster you are using????How much space do you need for it?? And is it available for hire???

The VFR's been neglected lately due to the krapasaki, erm kawasaki ;)

At the minute im using just a hand held blaster, but we will be looking into purchasing early next year an industrial sized blast cabinet and offering a service to blast and clean any motorbike parts.
