Argh damn it! - Dx4 needs your help

Post by dx400r »

Hey all,

Dont know what you lot were doing on Tuesday (probably polishing your NCs in the warm) but at around 7pm I got broadsided by a Postie in his Escort Van at a junction. I have no idea what is going to come of that. My boots saved my foot (allowing me to be wheeled off with a mere sprain) and transferred the load onto my '30 which bravely took the brunt of it all.

Me never being a quitter, I need to fix her. So please guys dig onto your spares stores and see what rates you can do for the following items:

[From the orientation of being sat on the bike]
Standard Main Front Fairing Stay (Is jaunted to the left) - Ideally the scabbiest - I dont need pretty.
RH Headlight (Adjuster plastic is gone)
RH Clipon Bar (Snapped off)
RH Mirror
RH Footrest Hangar (Snapped at Frame mount)
LH Footrest Hangar & Gearchange Lever (Lever is bent OUTWARDS and the hangar bent inwards  )

Im sure theres more (no bodywork in the equation just yet) but shall see what the numbers look like. Just on top of Xmas too. Sigh.

Thanks in advance peeps.

Thanks in advance peeps.
is it just the headlight glass you need ? i don't think i have the black palstic sourround so glass and bulb holder (the grey bit) £5
when you say clip on do you need the clamp that attaches bar to fork ? i have a side, can't remember which but £5 anyway
and i think i have a footrest hanger in good condition. £15

so £25 delivered for it all.
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Yeah Royster, its the grey bit with the headlight glass I need. A bit of a closer look shows im in need of the screws and adjuster bits. Are they part of the grey assembly?

The clamp isnt strictly needed - I only need the bar as thats the bit that is broke.

Sorry to mess you about Roy, but I dont suppose you have the right hangar instead?

I got a pair of stock bars you can have for £10 posted, and a set of O and P rearsets that are just like the stock ones but with further back and up peg position, they got fold up pegs and a proper brake switch so their 100% road pegs just no more scraping round roundabout etc and they look a bit nicer, £45 posted

also got a set of stainless bar end weights in decent nick (some slight scratching I think but this could be turned to the bottom so wont be seen) you could have if you like for another £5 posted

can be seen here

all together £50 posted

Thanks anyway, Royster. Dont suppose you have a top radiator in good condition. Mine appears to have an oval filler neck.

Spike.. :D

£15 pounds for the bars+barends posted sound okay?

Will continue this on the for sale/wanted section.

Few more bits to sort... this month is going to be an expensive one (as if it wont be for most of us already!)

Last night I...

Pulled out bent subframe and refitted a spare, removed my bent front fairing stay ready to accept the new one that came yesterday - It was so bent I had to unbolt it I so could get the clocks off it

Pulled the remains of my footrest hangars off - RH one will need tig welding for now. Can seemingly only get hold of a new or pattern one.. neither ideal solutions. A LH one off fleabay turned up today

Its stripped and ready to be reborn :)
