mikeys project boredom..
well.. i was bored inbetween spells working away so thought i'd turn my hand to doing up the bike...
it started life looking something like this..

so the stripdown started...

Had to sort the exhaust studs as they were in a very sorry state, that'll be why the exhaust was blowing when it went for MOT..

Next thing was Braided brake lines, along with some new levers..

Altho the front line werent an great fit, new HEL lines were ordered, these just need to be fitted..
Next up was to refit the stainless 4-2-1 headers and a new Beowolf end can.

The orginal bike's mirrors were piss poor so needed replaced so i sourced a set of duke reps with indicators..

Renthal Sprokets and x-ring gold chain was fitted last winter so didnt need to worry about that..

Carbon Fibre air ducts were soucred.. these worked out cheaper than buyin the OEM ones from honda..

After this.. the re-build started...

so the finished article looks something like this...

There are still some stuff to do. ive ordered a set of Re-con Road Carbs that have had the Stage 1 dynojet fitted and a K+N filter to help it breathe easier
Also taking a pile of LEDs and resistors with me to Abu Dhabi on friday and going to fabricate me own tail unit with integreated indicators while i'm away..

Sorry but think you have ruined your bike . Dont like it, It looks a bit like a 17 year old has got hold of it or a bloke who owns an XR3I with big wheels on it and a loud exhust, bit of a atrts hand bag

for your first post its pretty up front mate, i think its quite nice theres nothing outlandish and youve spent time and a fair amount of cash getting high end parts, wheres your beef "honest bob".
simple paint job, slick tail pipe, subdued black mirrors, carbon fibre intakes (yes carbon can go over board, not into the levers i must admit.) but 1 part that fits the colour scheme?
full credit mike for a nice job that i hope the wife enjoys.
a rampant rabbit wouldve been cheaper, kept her indoors and away from biker haunts but hey!

Wozza it is a GF end can.
She said it was too loud and didnt like the fact it wasnt BS stamped..
i'm sure "honest bob" is one of my mates tryin to be wide
The bikes been done to her taste.. females.. who'd credit them (prepares for the backlash) haha
I had to do something with the bike cos the orginal fairings were well.. how do i put this.. tatty as fuck.. lol
It had obviously been down the road a few times before i got it so needed a spruce up
