Re: The Exhaust Thread
ok, so my Carbon Can Co exhaust turned up today, can someone give me an idiots guide to cutting my old exhaust to slip this one on?

It came with a link pipe, is this just used to put standard exhaust back on or does it need to be fitted all the time?
Tried hunting with search for some kind of guide, but search told me to bugger off!
Thought there might of been some kind of guide with the zorst, but alas no!

Re: The Exhaust Thread
It looks like the inlet diamter of your new can is bigger than the standard pipework, so you need to use the link pipe with the new can.graham72 wrote:ok, so my Carbon Can Co exhaust turned up today, can someone give me an idiots guide to cutting my old exhaust to slip this one on?
Fitting is very simple: Carefully work out where you need to chop off your standard exhaust!
Nice can by the way!

Re: The Exhaust Thread
Ok so I've got the clamp that holds the can to the link pipe, what do I need for the other end of the link pipe to the standard exhaust, another clamp??

Re: The Exhaust Thread
yes, the link pipe has to be clamped to the main pipe when you have determined the pipe length.
PS or get it welded on.

Re: The Exhaust Thread
Bugger! Wish they'd given me two clamps then! Will A local bike shop have clamps in?
Hmmm might have to look for local welder if not!

Re: The Exhaust Thread
Mission accomplished!
Cut the old pipe off with a mixture of hacksaw (till it broke!) then the grinder then cleaned the edge up with my powerfile.
The link pipe was such a tight fit, I wasnt sure it was going to go over the original exhaust but yay it did! Infact its such a tight fit, that no paste or clamp was needed, no leaks as yet!
The db killer thingy was held in by a rivet, which strangely enough was magnetically attracted to my drill bit and fell off lol
Wow, what a difference it makes, I can actually hear my bike as I'm going up the road!
£200 delivered with link pipe and strap!
Standard can:

Carbon Can Co can:

Very impressed with the quality of the can and the sound it produces, no idea if it goes any better, but to be honest it was only for sounds sake I fitted it! Just got CCC sticker to add and job done!
