Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
each part varies, the rear tail is a 2003 600rr, the front fairing & lights are 2005 and the side fairings are 2004 i think
( now cut to fit) , they all fit well together with no issues. i am having a few issues making a new seat that fits, trying to modify the foam to fit a 600rr tail shape seat that also sits around the vfr tank. if i have no joy on tuesday ( my day off ) will end up buying a foam racing type seat.
have managed to finish the exhaust today. fully polished, welded new spring fixings for the race can, resealed the connection in the middle along with new sealant and heat wrap to protect the collars in the connection.
repainted and connected both rads and all hoses, checked the fan that it works and al runs smoothly and made a start as mentioned on the seat.
will get some more pictures loaded on tuesday once i get some more done,

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
ok planned on getting loads done today, but instead have spent the past 5 hours up casualty. There was me the other day commenting on how much of a numpty te bloke who clean his chain and lost his fingers was and today, whilst using my angle grinder cutting some metal for fairing brackets, the grinder disc jammed, jumped from my hand and then decided it fancied my foot.
i now have twelve stiches on the instep on my left foot, this means no riding for atleast two weeks or i will tear it all open again. so i have not managed to get anything done or pictures taken.
well i say not pictures....i have one....it is not as impressive and losing your fingers whilst cleaning your chain but it is another battle scar and story to tell down the pub!

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
that was one word i used...but in all honesty it did not hurt that bad, it was when the nurse put the big long needle down into the wound to administer some anesthetic i winced a bit then.

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
right small job done today, still dont have much movement as my foot is still quite sore. ( see couple of posts above! ) as i have cut the original system - i know a sin but the can was scuffed badly, i have attached my laser hotcam race exhaust - straight 60mm slip on.
to cover the exhaust spring clips and the rough edges of the original heel plate, the heel plate i have used is from a aprilia rx50 - cost £2 off ebay was painted black needs finishing / polishing have only given it a quick once over but it fits really well - i think i will bend it slightly just to take the shape of the exhaust slightly better but for the cost a bargain i think!

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
ok, got a bit more done today, came across an issue i had totally overlooked...the coolant overflow bottle. after chopping the subframe there was no way the original was going to fit. Did a search on here and found various ideas, i did like the ribena bottle idea but did not have one of those around so i tried one of our little girls milk bottles and it worked well. Just the right size, had to fabricate a bracket to support it but all in all works well.

it tucks away quite nicely from a distance and does not disturb the new fairings

have finally got around my fuel tap issue, the main suggestion from my other thread was to drill a hole in the side, i wanted to try and avoid this by cutting out the inner 'v-section' of the problem panel - tried this and it did not work so i have glass fibred from the back and filled from the front to put it back together and in the end had to drill a hole to do the job, though looking at the pictures when it is all painted up ( this bit will be black ) it shouldnt look to bad.

i will get here finished i promise, just everything keeps getting in the way!

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
i am trying to keep this as up to date as possible, i promise! i have been wondering about what to do about the undertray as this is now mad of aluminum, i didnt want to paint it as i new it would eventually start looking poor, so i thought about different things and have finally gone with rubber.
I have used a sheet of rubber 0.5mm thick and have fixed it to the individual pieces of the undertray, i have only done the top two bits this evening but i think it looks good, will be water proof and professional.
anyway heres the pics

i have this weekend off so hope to have all of the body finally finished in the way of construction, then with a little bit of work for the mot...the paint job!

Re: nc30 - fireblade pics
ok, not as done as i would have liked today, but the undertray is now finished:

the rear brake light, indicators & number plate lights all now wired in along with the undertray built with a perspex part at the top to allow the number plate light to shine through
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... CT0696.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
a new top fairing & headlight mount has been made using some original part from stock, coupld of bits from a nc24 screen brace and some strong steel tubing
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... CT0709.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... CT0706.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
then finished the screen brace bu makign a bracket to hold the modified clocks, these are now slightly wider than stock so needed locating slightly further forwards than before hence the need i have for a longer speedo cable - thanks Deviant400 for the speedo cable swap! i have also wired up front indicators / lights and instruments dials
http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... CT0694.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
that is as far as i have got today, wil get more done asap!
