Hmmmmmmmmm New topic old problem

Post by sketchy »

Hi guys i know this has come up several times before but i cant find the answer i need.

Should my NC29 be charging the battery below 2000 rpm.

All the guides advice and haynes state that you should check the voltage above 2000 rpm.

I have bought a new battey 1 month ago fully charged it holds 12.6volt one hour after coming off the optimate.
When the bike is idling at 1000rpm the battery shows 12.9v but if i switch the lights on this drops to 12v and then continues to drop to about 10.8v this is does not seam right to me.

However if i rev the bike lights on or off above 2000rpm the voltage stays between 13.3v and 15v which according to everything i have read seams to suggest that everything is ok.

So why is my new battery weak if the bike does not start on the first couple of goes the battery runs out of juice and you have to leave it to recover.

Hope you can help

Thanks

Joe

It sould be 13v+ when freshly charged...so I'd say the battery is fecked...
