carb mod NC30

Post by smokie »

I have drilled out the slides to 2.5mm as per instructions on old forum. How many 0.5mm washers do I need to fit under the needles? How many turns out should the air screws be?
My bike is std with ART can, Derestricted speedo, 120/122 main jets.
TIA
Kenny

That was my write-up you seen. You can start with 1 0.5mm washer under each needle and see how it goes. It's not a mod that every bike likes but is good for others. I think you'll probably find that you are slightly over-jetted for a standard system and a race can with no other mods. I run 120f/122r on a modified air-box and race system on my track bike and I think that is slightly rich. There is no better place than a dyno though.

Thanx for your reply. What size jets would you recomment for my bike? It had the std import jets in when I got it.

There is 1 x 0.5mm washer under the needles as standard, so you should have a total of 1.0mm after this mod. ;)

Every bike that I've done this to has responded well. The air screws should be 2.25 turn out form closed.

Agree that it would be slightly rich on that jetting, will do no harm but might cost a pony or two.
