What a cracking bike
I have had an NC30 for the last few years which I have progressively sorted out, including technoflex rear shock, decent exhaust system, ebc pro-lites etc. But, as is human nature, I have been lured by other bikes including Falco, CBR600rr, Bros 650, Ducati 748 and this week a Cagiva Raptor 650 came along at a steal so bought that and was quite impressed as it seemed to be a really good road bike.
Then, seen as the sun was still out, I took the NC30 out for a ride. What a cracking bike! After swapping the rear wheel to road spec from track day without having to touch an oily chain she started on the button and immediately felt right. Small, nimble yet subtle suspension that soaked up bumps the 600rr used to hate, good brakes and a motor that revs to 15k without a massive hole in the torque curve. OK I get overtaken by 600's on the trackdays but when I think how good a 17 year old bike she is I remember why she stayed while others have been moved on.

Re: What a cracking bike
been here for 11 years now, and seen this so many times. people buy a NC, run it for a bit until they get the bigger bike calling. end up coming back to a 400 after doing full circle. i think its because there are alot of happy memories on your first 400, and the powers not scary too.
many of us long termers have bigger bikes too, and yet all happy to keep the little 400's for some fun.
i will say though, if you like the NC30, then imagine it with almost the top end of your 600RR and more than your 748 - thats the RC30.
now that really is fun.

Re: What a cracking bike
funny you should say that...
the guy i bought my NC30 from had a gixxer 1000 straight after, then traded for a 750, then a CBR600- and recently called me up asking if id swap the 30 for it lol.
he even offered me some cash on the deal aswell...
i must admit, i did feel sorry for him.
only for a little while though
