All part of the joy of owning an older bike.ibby4585 wrote:Thats a kind offer, but i couldnt inflict my incompetence on you!! but they do ned to be done i have long list that seems to keep growing!!
To keep one relativly mint can easily turn into a bottemless pit of neverending spending. Especially when things build up (tyres / chain / sprockets / engine service etc etc)
Why do you think there are so many neglected ones on ebay?

I often have fellow bikers jesting that many of my bikes spend more time in bits than on the road. But thats part of the joy / nightmare (delete as approriate) of owning an older bike, the hands on do it yourself approach that is lost on many newer machines packed with electronic trickery and special tools.
And since there all gettin on a bit they inevitibly do need more maintance / money spending on them than a newer machine. Unfortuantly many people let things build up until so much needs doing it ends up on ebay.
Learning some basic maintainance skills will save you a fortune in the long run. The valve clearances are not hard at all, just follow vipers guide.
If I wanted hassle free easy biking i'd buy the 2009 CB1300 in RWB of course

Come to think of it i'm tempted to buy one anyway
