Well.. It have silicon sealed the top grommet zone and it is now pretty well sealed. Am having minor gasket bedding in leaks from the lower bolts and am wary of nipping the bolts up enough to crack the casing again... a drop here and a drop there..
If it does not seal I'll fit another gasket and some non setting sealant too... am getting tired of my poor skills and taking the frigging thing off all the time. I have also not multimetered it yet so no idea if it is charging..but got to work OK so something is happening!

However, the bike now has a lumpy idle and a rocket mid range surge with the new gear installed. I can imagine that the removal of the quieting gears and lighter wheels, chain and whatnot would improve this even further,

So everyone who did this were happy with the result? Is the kit expensive? Can it be done to a NC35 aswell as a NC30?

Apart from that..I used my hand held grinder to whip the ribs off this new case and it took 2 minutes. Looks a bit rough but does the trick.

So, sealing advice needed please - it seems the standard NC grommet is not sliding into the case far enough and so the engine is venting out the top of the case and making my floors oily!
I decided instead of cutting the grommet that I would cut the plug off and then slide the wires through the orginal grommet and put a new plug on the end. Cutting the grommet didn't make much sense to me.

yes - I did another attempt at sealing using another set of wires and some sealant..all snug as a bug in a rug now..

|@ scoops - thse were a batch made that you had to be quick to get hold of. Email Mike Norman and ask if he has any spares..
have a lok at his blog - google mngforce and you'll see that the gear they produce is top quality.

Yes, it works, my bike revs it's ass off and the genny can probably power a kettle too..

Worth the hassle, very trick and I am smug knowing I have something so rare in my motor :drool:

Getting less rare... I have one in the NC24 now :D Pics to come shortly

Procedure is exactly the same :)

Ibby, G-Force organised a limited manufacture of some adapter plates which enable a lighter gsx-r stator and flywheel to be fitted.

Best to contact g-force to see if any are still available.

Oooh.. Well it's still not finished but i'm putting her all back together to go for a ride to test the clutch springs and some other things out i've done to the motor as I don't want to carry on repainting bits if the motors not running right. :)

I'll let you know how its running next week sometime
