Yeah, that's what I've got, I'm just not sure where I've 'lost' 6mm[1] unless either the RVF centre spacer is 96mm rather than 90mm or something is wrong with the forks/yokes.

I'm going to have to take the road bike apart. :(

[1] I measured the spacer as 21mm but could well be nearer 22mm.

Right so youve got the same setup as me,forget the figures for 163mm coz whater way you measure it it will always be short but the big question is is have you fitted it? (sorry have to ask :)) because i cannot understand how you can be 7mm out its not possible.

115 mm between bearings same agree?
28mm spacer agree?
21/22mm spacer agree?
rvf spindle agree?
rvf forks agree?
rvf yokes billet or standard agree?
If all above is correct then its should be a good fit mine is a tight sliding fit as my spacer is 22mm not 21 but hey rvf wheel or vfr no difference if its still 115or114 then it should fit only thing that could be different is that ive got billet yokes BUT as my spacers are the same you would think the yokes are right.Spindle all the way in till the line? Great these 400s eh? Russ

I'll be interested to know what is the answer to this as I've got the same problem on one of my RVF's. Basically a gap thats probably just around 7mm when I try to fit the wheel in. due to the bike being pranged we intially thought it was a bent fork leg. but after checking them(seemed okay), then replacing them the problem was still there. Soo.. then we changed the yokes and the problem has still not been sorted.. :(

Yep, trial fitted it, trial fitted it again just now and it's 6-7mm out.

Yep
rvf forks agree?
They were bought off ebay as RVF400, they have a SHOWA - MR8-902 sticker on.
rvf yokes billet or standard agree?
Well, they came attached to an RVF400 frame and look identical to the orginals fitted to the road bike...

Yeah but it's a bitsa I had to buy the spacers, spindle and forks, wheel came from the NC30 bike that also donated the engine.

Playing around with it, rotating the one leg moves the gap in and out, looks like slightly bent forks, bl**dy ebay sellers.

when you line it all up with the discs in the calipers is the gap all one side or not? maybe if it is you could run 2 28mm spacers which would make up your 7mm gap still cant get my head round this as ive got billet yokes but my spindle is standard rvf and is the right lenth just seems my distance between legs is different. I had the same issue when i first went to fit the nc30 wheel in the rvf forks but i had about a 7mm gap this was with the nc30 spindle and spacers so i bought a rvf spindle off a ebay seller and made my own spacers . and it all fitted :D Russ

Edit:  build them up without the yokes please as im sure they will fit making sure the spindle is in to the line .Note when my bike spindle is fully home, the end with the tread in is not flush with the outside of the fork leg.its is recessed about 5mm so if you build up legs, spacers etc WITHOUT the yokes then nip up the four bolts in the front when all is pushed together you should be able to tell by the end of the spindle if alls good then it will be 5-7mm from the end of the fork leg outer face ...if not good the spindle end will be flush with the outside of the leg. try it see what happens

Forks are bent. :(

Rotating one of the legs and the gap changes from ~170mm to ~165mm. :(

It's been too long since I got them for a paypal disbute too. :(

Don't suppose anyone has a spare set of NC35 stanchions or forks going cheap?

Very hard to tell, I wouldn't have said either was looking at them but there you go.

I've asked the seller for my money back but I'm not hopefull, I'll phone some fork straighteners tomorrow.
