Re: Ram air boxes.......whose using them
There's probably a bit of trial and error in that, but yes it could be made to work. There are maybe no guarantees that the mount for a tank breather will definitely see the same pressure as the carbs until it's measured. With a fuel pump it covers all scenarios.Morespeedvicar wrote:Hi, i could be well off the mark here, but cant you just plumb the tank breather into the air box as well, to save using a fuel pump?
Wouldnt the positive pressure( in the air box) equal to the tank then you'd still have the head pressure as normal?
I think mopst peeps will settle on a fuel pump because it gets around this unknown entirely.

Fuel pump is a gift and easier and more reliable. Tony, the ram-air to set-up the way I did it was a piece of piss (if I can do it, you could too) and simple to get working on VFR carbs.

Cheers Gareth im coming round to the idea of getting my hands dirty with it. However ive just got back from putting a daytime MOT on it, 1st time ive rode it since my last trackday and strip down which was a good few months ago and lets just say i took the long route home. Fooking love riding this bike and the new can sounds rude at full chat. I had to stop half way there and connect the rev limit wire to +12v as id forgot but other than that she was a little TROUSER FIREWORK, now i can ride on the road i can start playing with the ram air setup and test it as i go instead of hoping for the best when i get to the track. If the yammoto i got for sale sells then im gunna tap Aly up for his RLR carbs if not then i'll mod mine.
