Re: what effect of raising carb needles?
Hi, just to finish this I did eventually go the way of the pilot screw to see if this would help, before mucking on with needles. Well I found out, although the bike ran fine apart from that stutter at 2500rpm the pilot screws were not equally turned out, number one carb was 1 turn, two & three were 1.75 and four was 1.5. So I took the non scientific way and turned them all to 1.75 turns.. This seems to have cured it, not very scientific I know but it has worked, Im glad really as taking them apart to change needles or screws again would not be ideal for me. Mechanical I am not.

Hi Dave
I'm glad to hear you found a way around the flat spot, its a bit daunting when you buy something and it doesn't match up.
Nice to hear an update.

Re: what effect of raising carb needles?
Hi Nige, thanks, and I always try to give a update as soon as I can especially if people have responded to my post, It only took this amount of time as I was re-spraying my bike (pics later) and could not get the bike on the road to try it out. It would be nice if everything worked first time out the box, but alas some non OEM parts tend not to do this.
