nc29 forks / nc30

Post by rdstars »

Just a quick one, ive got a future project im planing. I know a compleate VFR400 nc30 front end would do the trick but was wondering on my hunt for parts is the CBR nc29 front end the same as the nc30?

Chears.

No, the fork tubes are a different length (I think?), and the fork lowers are definitely different as they use different caliper mounts.

The nc30 uses better calipers than the nc29 (in my opinion!), and there are brackets available to bolt on 600rr/RC51 calipers for the nc30 forks, something to bare in mind if you're building a special!

Thanks,

I just thought I would ask as ive seen nc29 front ends just not fetching hardly anything on ebay but the nc30 seams to go for about £35-60 (not including the wheel), I know they all use the same typical 17" expensive Honda front wheel.

Its for an NSR250 mc16, I know that the nc30 front end fit a treat with just a stem change, other front ends would work just the same obviously but ive seen the nc30 done and nothing else apart from rare expensive newer NSR parts that just are not avalible.

You can change the NC29 lowers for NC30 ones if you want better brakes as the NC29 uses 2 piston sliders and the NC30 has 4 piston fixed calipers.

The NC29 tubes are longer

just swop the nc29 lowers with nc30 ones. straight swop and you have 4piston calipers on your nc29 and it will now stop. take couple of hours to do. might as well swop seals while you have them apart.
