rear caliper pad pin

help , have a problem with my rear caliper , i have repsol orange wheels on my nc30 and the back one is always black from brake dust , even tho i dont use the back brake that much really, so after a short run i felt the rear disc and it was very hot so my rear brake is rubbing , so i dropped the caliper down and tried to remove the pads to check the movement of the pistons , ive found that the pad pin cover scew is missing and the pad pin bolt is locked in tight , my allen keys wont shift it , any advice on removing the pin, does anyone know the exact key size for the bolt , as i dont wanna round off the bolt as its startin to already and then it will never come out arrrrgh!!!!

first port of call is lubeee and lots of it, dont use allen keys if you can help it, a screw driver with the allen key attachment would be best, turn it and hit it and the same time (dont try and turn it in one go, hit attempt to turn a tiny bit reset hit and try to turn a little bit)

bolts and screws tend to round off because people try and turn them in one go, not sure if that makes any sense but in my head it does!

I know its basic stuff so sorry if you were already doing that!

taken onboard your advice , ill have another crack at it at the weekend as im pushed for time till then , just wondering if the pin can be bought seperate as a new one to go back in would be nice

Yes you can buy a new one separate, just remember that you do get allen keys that seem to fit but in fact have still to much play get one that fits with no play and don't buy cheap cause its going to bite you in the "buttocks" as Gump would say and like the man say lube her up and give her a shock as you slip it in so it can loosen her
