Odometer question
Hey guys,
I have changed my stock sprockets to -1 on the front and +2 on the back and I was wondering if this will affect the mileage on the bike odom?
I was told by one mechanic mate that there will be no probs as its done by engine pulses? and another friend says it will add false reading of more miles due to engine out of sync.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Changing the gearing will throw your speedo out, and because of this will throw out the mileage.
Easiest way to get around it is to fit a digital pushbike speedo, gps, etc.

Koso RX2 are popular (and look good), there are a few threads on these around here somewhere. If you start one you'll find heaps of good info!

A cheaper way of doing it that we've done to a friends bike in the past with different sprockets was to ride along with a tom-tom / gprs etc and mark the speedo with a felttip / tipex etc at the actual speeds off the tom-tom/gprs at 10/20/30/40/50/60/70 etc :)c0rrupt wrote:Thanks for the swift reply, again!

You can then cutup a stickon overlay and stick some numbers in the right place.
