NC30 CDI Question.

Post by Daytona_Rider »

Greetings all,

I have a 1991 NC30 Race bike that just didn't start yesterday at the track... ran fine and then screech! None starter.

Okay, the carbs are good, and it's getting fuel to the cylinders so I'm positive it's not there. I'm getting Zero spark to any of the spark plugs.

My question; If I'm not mistaken I should be getting an cyclical hit of 12V (approximately) to the coil inputs while cranking the bike... I'm getting zero. Am I right in concluding my CDI has gone to heaven?

BTW I'm getting 12+ volts at the rectifier.

Thank you for any help.

Cheers
James

Good result!

The nc30 cdi's can get pretty dodgy, the rivet construction doesn't keep much water out!
