Aluminium brake line banjos
Are aluminium brake line banjos designed to be run with or without washers in between them?
The reason I ask is that the NC35 trackbike I'm building has now fireblade m/c and cbr600rr calipers but no brake lines, rather than buy some new ones I thought I'd fit the ones that were originally on our (road) NC35 which we replaced for S/S as we didn't think alloy ones were worth it on a road bike. Stupidly I didn't note the answer to this question before I removed them (~2 years ago)....
The issue is that both the alloy and stainless banjo bolts I have are too short if fitted with washers in, on the lines the alloy banjo is 10.5mm thick, the set of (cadmium) ones I have on the SV are 8.4mm thick (which then fits perfectly with washers). The original rear is also 10.5mm thick.
I'm thinking that with the softer alloy banjos and bolts that washers aren't needed, if they are then I need to use an original double banjo bolt.

Re: Aluminium brake line banjos
Yes you must use the copper washers as the brake line wont seal without them
