From Stock - Modified Dyno Results!
Just thought I'd post some pictures of my results.
Details of the Dyno used can be read on their website:
http://www.seastarsuperbikes.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The bike used is a standard 1989 NC30 just with the later Jet sizes. Nothing else is changed, modified. All components are OEM.
Its had a very recent full service, consisting of chain/sprockets, oil + oil filter, air filter, spark plugs and so on.
Last weekend I had Rick O check the valve clearances and also balance/clean the carbs. 5 shims were replaced. (thanks Rick)
I was using a full tank of 97octane fuel (shell), with 36PSI in the rear tyre.
It has 51000km on the clock.
I will be posting another Dyno run in around 3-5 weeks time.
On this occasion, my bike will be fitted with a full Tyga exhaust system (single stainless can), Carbon airbox and HRC rep jets and RO needles which which most parts will be provided by Gavin at JAP4.
So for those who are contemplating tweaking/changing their exhaust and bits and bobs, it may be useful to view my results, and use them to make your own decision (if ponies are what your after
)
The figures shown are the power at the rear wheel.
Max torque = 26.4ft-lbs
Max power = 58.0
Peak power (RPM) 12,510

A video is available for those who would like to see it.
Thanks
Alex

Seems like a really healthy bike you have there. Post the video up too, I'm sure a few of us will watch it.

Here's a link to the video. Apologies of the poor quality, it was taken on my mobile phone.

Look forward to seeing how it gets on with the mods. 58 is healthy enough alright.

Re: Stock Dyno Results
The modifications will be fitted towards the end of August, and the dyno run will be booked in shortly after.
On order are a larger airbox from Tyga (8% extra volume), a full single exhaust system with silencer by Tyga, and some Rick O HRC style jets.
Im hoping for around 28ft-lbs of torque and 62bhp.
Results (including graphs and another Video) will follow when the Dyno run is completed.

Re: Stock Dyno Results
Well, The 'zaust and airbox are on, The dyno run is the end of september (a bit later than planned) although instead of using the Tyga End-can on this NC, i've put it on my track bike, as its very throaty and will turn too many unwanted heads on the roads! lol. The Tyga end-can will be on when the Baffle is delivered
Here she is:

A bit better than this don't you think:

£520 for the pipework and Tyga end-can, that old scorpion has just been swagged off my track tool and given a quick polish.
The sound is fantastic though!
Saturday shes being treated to some HRC style needles and larger jets. =)

Re: Stock Dyno Results
I would imagine a full exhaust system, slip on, and larger airbox will be making the engine a lot more lean. Going to increase to 120's all round and take it from there.
Then some Dyno time to see how shes fuelling.
