I vary it slightly depending on temperature/weather/track surface, but on the whole 33psi is what I recommend to new trackdayers who don't usually check/change their pressures between every race/session, as you tend to lose a little pressure over the course of a day.

33psi is still soft enough to get your elbow down too. ;)

If he gets more serious about it, he'll start fiddling and changing pressures himself, to find what he feels is "right". But I suspect that will be more than he will be wanting to think about on his first trackday. :)

I'd concur with 33psi for at least the first session, I personally find they get a little squidgy towards the end of a session if set at 33psi and prefer 30-31 but that's at around 1m50s and unless you are a riding god you won't be going that quick first time there, as an indication a friend was doing 2m30 (on an NC35) and my wife was doing just over 2m (NC35).

Coppice (first corner after the start/finish straight) is fast as fsck, can be taken flat out on a std NC30/35 but it's very scary, I don't suggest you try it!

You *can* keep it nailed over the mountain but you need to know what you're doing, people *have* looped 400's over there but you can also do this:

Take it easy and build up to it, no point throwing it away in the first session.

Main thing to remember is have fun and DFC!!! (Don't Fucking Crash).

Well what was going to be a great day of fun on the NC30 turned out to be a total disaster

Turned up at 7:45, rolled the nc30 off the trailer, put the keys in, turned the ignition and then when i pressed the start button there was nothing, not a fucking dicky bird :( Oil light and neutral light were on but that was it. I left it 5 mins and tried again and it clicked a couple of times then nothing. Left a further five mins and just clicking :( :( Tried to bump it off and again nothing. One more go i thought so i pulled the front brake in readyness and the lever went straight to the handlebar with brake fluid going all over the front tyre, the god dam fucking braided hose had split :o :o :o :o :o DAY OVER and it was only 8:10

A mate of mine and my brother persuaded me to go home and get my RSV 1000, i was reluctant but i thought what the fuck how can today get any worse :? Missed the first 20 min session, got on the second session and shit my fucking pants, second session was much better and i thought i was going well until.....................i noticed a split in my rear tyre WTF :o chucked some water on it and it wasn't bubbling so i thought it would be ok. Went out on third session and nearly crashed at the end of the back straight, just after the mountain and near the end of the start finish line. Pulled off and checked the tyre pressure and i had a slow puncture :? :o :( :x

So all i got out of it was a broken NC30, 2 and a half goes on the track and in need of a new rear tyre for the mille, GREAT.

Oh and when i got home i thought i tried the NC30 and the little fucker struck up first time with no choke and just sat there burbling away until i switched it of :fight:

This weekend i will be fitting new braided hoses and checking all the electrical connections as the problem has to be a loose electrical connection, bad earth or something.

Although the day was bad i did manage to get a few good pictures

Unlucky man...that is a proper kick in the nuts.

At least you didn't stack it and I'll bet you still fancy getting back to Cadwell and nailing it

Shame about the NC playing asshole with you. Lesson learned I'll guess and much better that it peed fluid off the trailer rather than at the end of the Park straight...

Next time will be peachy..

Sounds like you had fun to me!

Bad luck on the nc30, splitting a brake line isn't exactly common... electrical problems are though!

Unlucky that is fella, sounds very similar to my 1st trackday, problems with my nc on the day so ended up taking my 6 month old gsxr on a damp brands hatch. hardly got out of 3rd gear and the PC3 played up. Stayed shinny side up so all was not bad.

CMSMJ1 - Yeh i was lucky it decided to leak fluid before i went on track but it didn't feel like it at the time. Lets hope a week on Friday it all goes smoothly

Stickshift - It went from being so pissed (NC30), to being shit scared (RSV 1st go), to feeling like rossi (RSV 2nd go), back to feeling like driving miss daisy after drinking a 24 pack of wife beater :Puke:

Piratejafa - No way man, if i took your advice then my underpants would have looked like a war zone after a nuclear strike :pmsl:

Second track day today (25th Sept) on the NC30

New hoses on after buying two sets  dont ask :o see for sale items ;)

Electrics sorted so off we go, or so i thought

Got to cadwell and it was firing only on 3 cylinders, damn, took plug out, cleaned, refitted, then snap  i could of cried, but whilst i was going crazy and running around the paddock in just my underpants screeming like a looney :o some nice bloke removed it for me. I had some spare shitty denso plugs which sorted that out. Phew i thought so lets get on and see what this baby can do

Sighting laps, boring as help, first 20 minute session amazing, got both knees down (not at the same time!!) and was pissing all over the bigger bikes   Second 20 mintue session came up, i did one lap then the fucking clutch went, aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yet again my day is cut short so this winter i will be installing a new clutch along with removing the sump to check everything else mechanically is ok. I tell you what, i hope this will be it or so help me god i will blow the little fucker up :pmsl:

Any of you guys had any other issues on trackdays that may need looking at??
