No Spark
Sunday ride out this morning, bike running sweet as it always does, then suddenly total loss of power
, rolled to a stop.
It failed to restart so had to leave it at the roadside and go home pillion. Picked up bike in my van and took it home.
There is no spark from any cylinder. Checked kill switch which works as it should. Fuses all OK. Opened up the CDI ,there were no burning smells it all looks OK ?. Then i checked the resistance of the pulse generator coils. One of them is 400 ohms, the other is open circuit so there is no resistance
. Would the bike not run on one pulse generator coil ?
Has anyone here had this problem before ?
If it is this ,any idea how much a set of pulse generator coils for an NC30 might cost ?.

Re: No Spark
i beleive you need the pair of generator coils to operate the channels if one isnt there potentialy there could be open circuit through the pair back at the cdi. Just check there isnt a wire off at the pick up coils and check you are testing accross the correct pair of wires yellow white etc if so chanes are you have burnt a winding out.
