No not really. It's not listed as allowable and comes under "Any modification not stated as allowable is deemed as not allowed."

bah,
on another note my engine packed it in during the 4 hour. thinking that the rings are fucked at this stage. need to do some tests.

Jeepers, really?
I would have like to do the 4 hour, but thought it might be a bit rough on machinery in the 400 class. How old were the rings?

Re: Quick shifter. Does anybody use it?
new after oran park mrrda. my bores are in really bad shape. think i need a new block as it just chowed them. all specualtion of course but its the same symptoms as what was happening to my bike at oran park. iv'e been saying for the last 3 race meets that my bike hasn't got the same punch as what it used to have. i thought it was all in my head...
its going to be tight budget wise to get rings, head gasket, engine cases and pay for a trip to PI. let alone find some engine cases, cheap.

Was the cylinder hone done with too harsh a stone? Or are they pitted/bowed and completely flogged?
You could try econohonda in NZ for the rings, their prices seemed reasonably cheap and the exchange rate is in your favour. Unless you get a deal at RB of course.

yeah, the walls are floged out. has high/low spots it in. the hone was done with a hone iv'e used for many engines and same as some other 400's are honed with.
im not sure weather to try and source some rvf400 .5mm oversize pistons. this will make the capacity 406.44cc (which is still legal) or get another cbr400 engine block.

A block would be cheaper, but if you could get your hands on the oversize pistons, they would be well worth having.

Honda don't make oversize pistons for the rvf, would be interested to hear if you find any other alternatives.

scratch that, i think i found the problem. one of my velocity stacks vibrated loose and was floating around the airbox. the tabs broke off it when i first got the bike so its just been arildited on the whole time. PI here i come :)
