Suspension and other mods.

Post by Phil_Norwich » Thu Aug 27, 2009 9:17 pm

Hey,

My first 'real' post. Hopefully going to get myself an NC30 within the next few months.

Just wondering what sort of mods people recomend / are most common. I've seen NC30's with USD forks, I'm guessing these are either from a ZXR400 or a NC35? Do they improve the handling or are they just for show?

I've heard fitting a CBR600 reg/rec is pretty common as the 400 one isn't great?

Any other mods people have in terms of perfomance, handling, looks.

Phil.

Yep 35 and zxr forks can be fitted, Rick oliver sells the conversion kits. If your feeling really flush then ducati forks will fit along with yokes, wheel, brakes, clipons and of course a coversion kit will be needed, Riley's your man for these.
Rick O also sells upgrade kits for your existing forks but you dont get the USD bling.
Rear shock options, bin the standard unit and dig deep in your pockets, Nitron, Maxton and a few others are available, Hagon do a shock if your on a budget and if you fancy a bit of moding then aprillia rs250 shocks are common and ive heard K6/7 600/750 shocks will go to.
All that along with a decent set of boots will have scraping your pegs all day long

Very useful stuff. Looks like Rick Oliver is based about 15miles from my house which is useful.

Cheers mate.

Iv been told that rvf forks handle the same as vfr ones and their heavier, not sure about zxr ones but USD's seem to be put on more for the looks than handling.

the ducati front ends look the dogs and iv heard they improve handling aswell but never tried one so couldnt say. another mod iv seen done is putting zx6r forks with radial calipers on as they fit in zxr400 yokes.
