What fork internals?
Hi,
I have a spare set of forks, and was considering rebuilding them for my race bike, to see how they go.
What would be recommended for springs, mods, oil weight etc for a 76kg rider, racing?
Are there springs etc I can get from donor bikes? I'm not interested in buying a million dollar off the shelf gold plated platinum ringed emulator shamozzle. But if there are bits from other bikes or mods that can be made to give a reasonable return on effort, i'm all ears!
I have a set of springs I was given with the bike but have no way of knowing what they came from, is there any way I can ID them?

I had a rummage through my parts box, and found the springs that came with the bike when I bought it.
They are a set of progressive weight springs, 330mm in length. God only knows what they came out of. Thats 10mm longer than std, would this cause any problems?

Could give the a go maybe with 10mm shorter spacers.

Re: What fork internals?
I pulled the spare forks I had apart this morning, the oil that came out was horrid. Think churned with water, think lumps of butter like consistency. I can't believe someone was riding this bike on the road like that...no wonder they crashed.
I've checked out the springs I have, they are a good 15% heavier than standard, so I'm going to give those a try.
Seeing as I have had issues with confidence in my front end since I started riding this bike, I'm going to go the whole hog with the rebuild and get some Racetech Gold-valve emulators, and rebuild them with those.
So for any of the Aussies out there, I may have a set of Trevor Manley forks for sale soon...
