The particular secrets I am interested in are;

Understanding how they create a 3d map based on TPS and engine RPM, only two points of reference? (Or am i missing something)

I'm also interested in understanding what dictates the x,y,z axis ranges and how these are affected by different fuels and engine set ups.

They do not use 2 points. The manuals just refer to these for the purpose of checking static advance and CDI functionality.

The actual map is 3D

x= RPM
y=Advance
z=TPS

Sorry its late....I misread your question. The third variable is the advance. Most bikes of the same age are 2D meaning only Advance vs RPM.

Yep, this is typical for most engines with a TPS (e.g. most efi cars).

I've worked with turbo cars which introduce a 4th variable being intake pressure (boost). These maps are quite complicated.


TK: Do you have 3d graphs of both nc29 cdi's?
