NC30 - Felt Like it had run out of fuel.
Hi Everyone, I'm new!
Firstly Great website been using it for a while, haven't signed up till today.
Was wondering if anyone could help me.
I purchased an nc30 a few months ago but only took it out this sunday as it was such a good day.
I did about 150km and it was fine, was making my way home and it felt like I was hitting some flat spots next thing I know i've lost all go and it was like it was running out of fuel. Pulled over checked to make sure it wasn't something stupid like I was on reserve (And the main tank was full). Couldn't get it started again. Had to ring my dad to pick me and the bike up. Got home about 5 mins later tried starting it in the back of the van and it started up first time and seemed fine.
Any Ideas, I'm thinking maybe something in the fuel filter or the carbs from where its been sitting so long. Not sure why it took so long for a problem to occur though it would have been a bit lumpy from the start.
Sorry about the essay.
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian, I had a similar problem yesterday over the 1st 5 miles (meeting up with some friends) the bike cut out several times however when I switched from on to reserve or vice versa the bike would run again for a mile or so. As soon as I got to my friends I whipped off the tank (quick release coupling), removed the breather pipe, removed and refitted the vacum hose, reconnected the breather and quick release fuel line clip, then proceeded to enjoy 200 miles of trouble free riding around south wales
.

Sounds like the exact same thing as me. How long did it take you to do?

Was it out of fuel?
Were you running with your lights on when on your way home? When you say it did not start - was it turning over? or dead?

It was ticking, just wasn't firing up.

Reg rec might be on the way out ? check the charging voltages, if you had the lights on when trying to start it Im not suprised it didnt start considering how much a full set of standard bulbs drains from such a tiny battery!

The bloke I brought the bike off said he's fitted new battery, Which I think he said was a CBR600.
