NC21 speedo derestriction help needed

Post by ChrisNC21 » Mon Aug 10, 2009 5:32 pm

Hi, does anyone know how to derestrict the NC21 speedo? I think there are a few ways, get a converter (too expensive at the moment), or fit a resistor by the cdi or behind the clocks. Anyone know how to fit the resistor behind the clocks? Not really sure what I'm doing and could do with pics if possible. Thanks.

The NC21 is not speed restricted via the speedometer. There is a light that flashes when you exceed the Japanese speed limit but that does not stop you going faster[Most bikes will have had this bulb taken out by now because it is annoying].Your bike could be 33bhp power restricted via washers in the carbs.

Thanks for that Duncan, I will get the carbs off and have a look tomorrow. Where would the washers be? On the needles?

The carbs are joined to the engine via rubber connectors, the washers sit in these rubber connectors, if you pull of the carbs you'll see them if there fitted.
