Dropped Bike!!
Hi,
my bike was running fine, until I dropped it that is. Fortunately the fairings were off so no damage there.
However, my bike now won't start. When the starter motor is pressed it makes a sound like the battery's flat, if you keep trying it will spin over for a second then you hear a loud crack, and it's jammed again!
It fell on it's left hand side (away from me, I tried to hold it, but I'm not strong enough and it fell quite slowly and rested on it's lhs)
Anyone had this happen to them and know what's wrong? I'm guessing either somethings come loose inside, or I've dented one of the engine casings which is now restricting the started motor from spinning.
Your help will be appreciated!
Thanks
Ross

Re: Dropped Bike!!
Welcome to the site!
The problem is most likely an electrical one, there's no way that you can damage any other engine related parts in what you describe!
Simple check first: check that both battery terminals are bolted on tight, this can often be the first thing to come loose in a crash if the battery can move about.
Also check that starter solenoid connections. It's on the r/h side of the subframe, the positive lead from the battery runs to it, it may have come loose in the fall.
There are other things it might be, but my bets are on it's one of the above causes.

Might even be a fuse gone - the one above the starter solenoid went on mine when I dropped it - maybe its some kinda safety cut out?!! (just like some race bikes)
