vfr not running properly any help please

my honda vfr 400 nc 30
is not running properly when the petrol is on it dies as if it has run out of petrol
so i am running it on resevers and its going fine

any thoughts please

There are two tubes of different lengths for main and reserve in the tank. Sounds like your long one for main is blocked..

That's my 10p guess anyways 8-)

could be the vacuum diaphram in your fuel tap has worn out or has a pin hole in it which stops it working, think it's by passed when you use reserve!

You need to take the petrol tank off (turn the tap to off, remove the top breather hose, then hoses from the fuel tap), then remove the fuel tap - it's fastened to the underside of the tank with 2 bolts.

When you have it removed you'll see the 2 tubes.
