Greggo, what is the plan for the rods ? Are you going to use something from G-Force or OEM rods ?

Keeping the standard rods, as the engine will be a balance between $$ and performance. Original rods will just be balanced - that is weighed and adjusted to make sure they all weigh the same.

Greego, some more silly question.

Why you decided to you VFR gear, not NC23? I thought NC23 should be closer to NC29 than NC30. Correct me, if I wrong.

Parus,

The VFR has a close ratio gearbox, in simple terms this means that the engine will drop less revs between up shifts allowing the engine to stay in it's peak power range. This will give the bike better acceleration in the lower 3 gears - the top 3 gears are the same ratio.

The trade off is having a 'tall' first gear that requires more clutch slip off the line. BUt if I remove the part of my brain that is connected to my wallet and forget that a new set of plates costs $220 I don't see it being too much of a problem.

NC29 and NC35 share the same gear ratios. Not sure if the NC23 has any difference at all, but I do know it is not a close ratio gear box.

Greggo,

Just question about flywheel. I have read that you're going to fit lighten flywheel, but due to race purpose better to remove flywheel at all. Correct?

In Oz race rules you need a working charging system parus, removing it isn't an option.

Thanks mate. Didn't know this. Where possible to get lighten flywheel. I know G-Force do something. Are there anybody else do this?

put the std flywheel on a lathe, you can take a good 300g-400g out of it. which doesn't sound like much but because your taking it away from the outside diamiter which is further away from the center of the crank so it makes a nice difference.

How much I can remove from flywheel? 1mm or 2mm or more ? I think this is quite important because flywheel can be "tumble down" in high PRM.
