Hi everyone,
Looking to change the rear shock on my rvf. Can't afford to get an aftermarket one I don't think, so what options for a retro fit do I have and what would be best. I'd like the maximum adjustability and trickness possible. I think Riley is running an Rs250 shock if he'd like to comment?
Cheers in advance

Re: Rvf400 replacement rear shock
Yes, RS250's do fit but its still a used/standard shock even after being re-built. Rather than do that, why not go of a later NC30 one but replace the remote reservoir with and adjustable if its at all possible, or even up-shim it.
My advice would be to buy a new aftermarket one, but if funds don't allow it then save a bit longer

How much am I looking for a competitive aftermarket unit and what are my options?

Re: Rvf400 replacement rear shock
I do indeed run a modified Rs250 unit with 875lb spring and it works very well, that said next year after the weddings all paid for I intend to replace it with a proper aftermarket unit such as a nitron, maxton, Wp, tech2000 or similar. Although its a sorted shock its still not intended for the bike and I'm sure it will continue to work well but it does niggle in the back of my mind sometimes when I'm riding. My idea of a decent ride normally takes in between 170 -250 miles and as such I don't like the idea of blowing a shock 100 miles from home and having to limp home - I enjoy the handling capabilities of my bike rather than flat out speed (which the 400s just don't have) so sorted suspension is everything. But as I said there is no reason why it should but I'd just feel happier with a bespoke unit.
Need any used Nc30 parts? Want to fit a Ducati front end to your Nc30? If so give me a shout.
