Re: Alarms
I bought one of these for £40 delivered and its still on my bike 2 years later and no hassle, unfortunately it didnt come with a relay and they didnt speak of one in the chingelish manual so had to search the net to figure that out did all the wireing my self and all functktions are 100% I was thinking of getting the one you are looking at, at a later stage as its got a longer range. My mate has a data tool and his alarm goes off for no reason wen he's riding, cuts out , refuse to start and all sorts and its a data tool.

Re: Alarms
Agreed. Ive had nothing but problems with my datatool alarm. Not entirely sure which model is fitted as the bike came with it on, but I pulled up in town to sign for my JSA one day, went back to the bike 20minutes later and it would not un-immobilise itself. I thought it would be the fob, as I have had problems with this before, so i walked to a garage and bought new batteries, and fitted them to the fob and it made no difference.G-MAN wrote:My mate has a data tool and his alarm goes off for no reason wen he's riding, cuts out , refuse to start and all sorts and its a data tool.
So, using the toolkit under the seat, i took the fairing off the back end, grabbed the alarm with both hands and rippied the fecker off. Twisted the wires together as a temporary fix and the bike started and run perfectly. Did a proper repair on the wires when I got home and havent had any problems since!!!
(Although a new, super sophisticated and intelligent alarm has been re-fitted!)

Re: Alarms
The DIY home fit alarms are OK. it depends what you want to use it for. my ZX6 has one fitted (Cheetah i believe made it) its one of those cheapo Chinese ones any way. the old forum used to have loads of info on how to best wire it up and if anyone off the old forum remember the wiring it would help you a lot.
for me all i wanted the alarm was to act as a deterrent. as i see it, if a thief wants the bike, they will steal it regardless of a cheapo or an expensive alarm

Re: Alarms
i've fitted one of these to mine
no problems, dead easy to fit, bright blue flasher and when i emailed about fully remote starting (
) they were very helpful.
when i had it on (bike is now help up with ratchet straps while i find 5 mins to refit the forks
) it was great, gave it a nudge and it bleeped a couple of times, any further nudges and it goes mental
. only problem was i left it on and the mrs bashed the crap out it getting the wheelie bins outside
= one flat battery.
but deffo a
for these, especially for the price, remote starting, anti-hijack, smart coding, rather snazzy metal fobs (might scratch your yokes tho).

Formerly RacingSlug. Felt like a change and it came down to either Biscuits, Ben10 (possible copyright issues) or NinjaSmokeWarrior. The wife suggested TwatMan.

Ohh my yoke yeah, I have a polished one anyway, I might get some clear vinyl to stick over it to avoid the scratching
