Sprocket Sizes??

Post by Jaicen »

Ok, I need to replace my chain and sprockets on a GK76a.
I was thinking about it, and it occurred to me that I'd quite like to improve the accelleration, or at least spin up a bit quicker. My bike's an SP, so it has a close ratio box (tall first gear ~55mph@11kRPM) that really works best above 6k, but around town, it's rarely above 4k unless I hold it in the first three gears.
Also, given that it's limited to 110mph, in 6th gear, top speed is around 10k RPM, leaving 2k spare.
I was thinking that i'd rather have the acceleration to get up to speed quicker even if that loses a little top end cruising ability.
So, with that in mind, does anyone have any experience of changing sprocket sizes? Are there any readily available at all!?

Hi J,
The JT code for the rear is 807 rear and 433 front for the 76A, you can go bigger or smaller. Remember you may need a longer or shorter chain.
