might i add, those goodies have always been of higest quality, delivered in record time and arrived in a* condition !! something im actually extremely grateful for but wouldn't otherwise get the chance to say.

on a happier note . . . im torn between laquer or simply polishing the epoxy . . . long term fuel resistance around the filler cap being my main concern with laquer . . . anybody had any experience with fuel against cellulose laquer ??

My feelings are not hurt I just dont like anything bad being put about my company when I have done nothing wrong, people take things the wrong way even if it was tounge and cheek they still read into it and get the wrong idea and I have worked to hard for people to get the wrong idea.

Getting back to the point, the tank is a great idea and no reason why it shouldnt work. My duc has a carbon tank cover and is a hell of a lot cheaper than £1300 for a full carbon tank. Be interested to see how this turns out

just given the tailpod a 2nd coat of epoxy so i got something to cut inco while polishing !!

As far as im aware its fixed, ive heard of them for sale somewhere so i assume its made from a mould and stuck on but wouldnt it have to be slightly flexable to get over the shape of the tank?

How are you doing the side panels? from a mould or carbon laid over the top?

oh right . . . you didn't fit it yourself ?? ive seen them for sale elsewhere too but just wondered how you get them on ?? i suppose its just alot of bending and kicking . . .

yeah tailpod is original plastic with a carbon fiber 'skin' . . . skinning is a fairly simple procedure as there are no moulds or jigs to make !! the downside is your not actually saving any weight and your panels get used up in the process.

for me it was a choice of a new paint job, new fairings or diy carbon fiber !! i hate painting unless im geting paid for it . . . new fairings are out of the question due to cost . . . so i was left with one option he he

Yes the RVF stuff is realy nice sold a fair few of the front tank cover parts to go with the air tubes. Only just added the rear tank cover so I will see how it goes as it was done due to the exspense of making a full tank would be out of most peoples reach.

I am looking to have a aluminium tank made and having one of these put over the top.

that's a potentially awsome combo . . . how do your tank covers fit around the fuel cap ?? does the fuel cap bolt over the top ??
