Greggo,
RB did Alixtas which he has now sold to a mate of mine and it's being raced in FNQ. Maybe give Harley a call and have a yarn.

Re: coiless plug caps
Cheers mate, i'll get on the horn to Harley tomorrow!

Spoke to Harley today, and found out a few things.
Standard coils don't earth.
Effectively the ZX link posted earlier in this thread is the correct method for wiring them up. What it doesn't mention is that you need to carefully select the stick coil you use, as not all are created equal. You need to match the impedence / resistance values with the OEM coils - bearing in mind you are wiring them in series so 2 stick coils = one OEM coil.
Eg, standard impedence = 20 ohms, so stick coil impedence needs to be 10 ohms.
The ZX9 ones used in the linked thread are spot on, as are the ones I have for an 01-02 R1.
In order to source the clips I will need to hack them off a loom. I think I will simply use a female spade connector and then permanently fix the wire in with a resin or silicon. Can't really see a disadvantage (as long as I use something non conductive, i reckon a windscreen sealant might do the trick, or a sh*t load of epoxy), they'll be linked but removable from the loom at the loom plug. That means I can just buy a handful of anderson connectors for my loom project, nice, generic, readily available and cheap.

Re: coiless plug caps
im mates with alister...he spent alot of time doing stuff like that to his bike...and yet,i went quicker at all tracks on a stock bike
was nearly 2 seconds off my pace at the island at the time...are u sure u need to waste cash on this?
There is talk of the vic 400's going total stock for next year...any modified bikes wont be in formula400/formula3 and will be put into pre-modern.
this is the talk..and not confirmed...but is being pushed

1. It's cost less than $20.
2. I do it because I like the problem solving and tinkering that goes with it
3. First I've heard of more rule changes - not that I care, so long as there is a class for me to race in
4. I still need your details to pay you for the straightening
