Very hot riders seat

Post by challymo »

After riding back from cosford yesterday I was noticing my seat and seat unit getting very hot (I was having to stand on the pegs to take my arse off it) just wondering if theres anything this might indicate? or whether it was just due to the extremely hot weather. Just to add the temperature guage was only at 90 degrees.

Might sound daft but is the foam padding under both sides of the seat still there.
Mine is missing from the left hand side and that does get quite hot compared to the right after riding.

Its probably the voltage regulator getting hot. - i presume its in the same place on the NC30 as the NC23?
Too many bikes, so little time!

I think its the weather, mine was extremely warm yesterday riding home too, just under the seat on the right hand side. The rectifier is further back on the left hand side.

It was the entire seat unit that was hot not just one spot. I'm thinking it was just because of the weather, just thought I would see if there might be any other reasons before I chalk it off to that.

Hi there, mine did this too -- generally when I've been spending too much time revving around town in 1st/2nd gear. Figured it'll come in very handy in winter that's for sure! I've seen the temperature gauge pointing 80% round to the red mark but it generally goes back down to the 90deg line once I'm out of town and on faster roads. Sound familiar?
