speedo

Post by cbr400rrn »

Please can someone take a photo of their speedo with the engine off as mine appears to be doing around 5mph (the needle is a bit off the little black stop.) I do need a photo to help me though.
Thanks Karl.

Speedo with the engine off??

Sorry but you post makes no sense, what do you want a photo of, the speedo, or the speedo drive where it attatched to the sprocket?

i know what your after.. BUT it wont help you.
your needle has been removed in some time in its life and fitted back wrong.

L.P i have looked through the posts of the thread that you put up and it appears that your speedo needle doesnt go back to zero either from the picture that you posted on the other topic, but could you do me a favour and take a picture of your speedo only so i can compare yours and my own to see if it really is out and by how much.
The needle hasnt been taken out at any point as the bike has been stood for 2 years whilst i have been rebuilding it (cash and time have been tight.)
I did however clean the glass inside last year and wonder if i have knocked the needle if that is possible. (needle was not removed or taken off at any time.)
Tanuki sorry for the post but i was on works computer and had to post quick as i finished at 10PM
Thanks Karl

Took my clocks off and the needle moves of its own accord upto 15kph if i tilt the clocks on there side. Again the clocks have never been apart to be altered, has anyone had any experiences like this before?

i wouldn't be too worried about it. the most important thing is to make sure the speedo reads the right speed when your moving.
sadly i wont be removing my clocks off my bike. i have HID wiring which is wrapped around the clocks and is a pig to get back in the right place to re-fit the clocks!
on my van the speedo needle doesnt sit at 0, but it reads fine when i am moving.
